(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The popular singer Indrani (nee Wijebandara) has passed away at the age of 83 due to a sudden illness.
The singer has passed away while receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital, according to family members.
She was the wife of late popular singer Sisira Senaratne. Together they recorded many popular hits since the 1960’s and held concerts together in several countries.
Senaratne’s many popular songs include ‘Gaya Geethayan Game Wel Eliye’ ‘Sudu Sanda Eliye’, ‘Wesak Kekulu’ and ‘Aatha Ahase’.
