(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Sri Lanka Railways is to be declared an essential service after trade unions decided to continue to stage a one day strike every week.
The Transport Ministry said that a gazette notice will be issued declaring Sri Lanka Railways an essential service.
Trade unions had protested last week over an issue regarding salary anomalies.
