(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –A total number of 5,042 motorists have been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol from July 5 to July 24, the police media said.
A special island-wide operation was commenced from last Friday, in order to apprehend drunk drivers.
Accordingly 201 drunk drivers were arrested from July 23, 6.00am to July 24, 6.00am.
