(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The Wennappuwa police say that 10 persons were arrested at the Nainamadama Thaldeka area in Wennappuwa early this morning while they were waiting to illegally migrate to Australia.
The arrested suspects including a couple, along with their small children are residents of Pallama area. The group has confessed to planning to sail to Australia in a multi-day fishing trawler.
The arrested persons are all Sinhalese and they will be produced before the Marawila Magistrate Court today.
