(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –A market opening ceremony was organized at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) to mark the 50th Anniversary of Abans Group, as part of a series of events organized by the company to celebrate its corporate milestone.
Chairperson Mrs. Aban Pestonjee, CEO Mr. Sriyan De Silva Wijeyeratne, CFO Mrs. Chandrika Perera, Independent Director Mr. Rajaratnam Selvaskandan, Deputy Director Mr. Dinesh Perera represented Abans Group at the Ceremony. CSE was represented by Chairman Mr. Ray Abeywardena, Directors Mr. Anton Godfrey and Mr. Shanil Fernando, CEO Mr. Rajeeva Bandaranaike and the Senior Management of the Exchange. The Chairman of Hatton National Bank PLC and the International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka Mr. Dinesh Weerakkody was also present at the event.
CSE CEO Mr. Rajeeva Bandaranaike speaking at the event congratulated Abans for a transformative journey over the past 50 years, which has seen the company grow into a diversified group of companies.

Abans Group CEO Mr. Sriyan De Silva Wijeyeratne said that that company is honored to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a Bell Ringing ceremony at the Colombo Stock Exchange while also stating that Abans has and will continue to make sizable contributions to the economy, as uplifting the standards of the people in the country is at the very core of every business decision made by the company. He also stated that the company will continue to evolve under the guidance of its founder and with a vision to grow and transform the Abans Brand even further.
The story of Abans is closely linked with the story of Mrs. Aban Pestonjee, the Abans Group Founder/Chairperson.
