(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – All schools in three divisions in the Colombo Education Zone and three schools in Sri Jayawardenepura Education Zone will be closed next Monday (07) due to accepting nominations for the presidential election, Education Ministry said.
It said in a statement that all schools in Borella, Colombo Central and Colombo South Divisions in the Colombo Education Zone and Rajagiriya President’s College, Hewavitharana Maha Vidyalaya and Hewavitharana Model Primary School in the Sri Jayawardenepura Education Zone will be closed.
The ministry said the decision was taken following a request made by the Chairman of the Elections Commission.
