(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –With Gotabhaya Rajapaksa assuming duties as the seventh executive President, on the new president’s instructions it has been decided to display the State emblem at the government institutions instead of the customary President’s image.
President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has instructed all public institutions not to display the President’s photograph and the photographs of politicians.
Accordingly, certain government ministries have taken steps to display the state emblem today.
The President has also ordered the removal of photographs of politicians displayed on the roads.
No government leader in history of Sri Lanka has taken such a decision and it has been noted as another opportunity to strengthen the new President’s vision under the theme “Successful Vision – A Working Country”.
