(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Four persons, including three Indians, were killed in an accident on the Southern Expressway at Kurundugahahetapema.
The accident had taken place at around 7.00 pm when the van which was traveling from Galle to Colombo collided with a container, said the police.
The accident had taken place between Kurundugahahetekma and Welipenna area.
Police said that the victims are members of the same family.
The injured have been admitted to the Elpitiya Base Hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined and the police unit of the Southern Expressway is conducting further investigations into the accident.
