(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Supreme Court Justice Prasanna Jayawardena, PC, has passed away.
He has passed away while receiving medical treatment at a private hospital in Colombo, said his family members.
He was educated at the Royal College Colombo and the University of Colombo, graduating in 1978 with a LLB (Honours).
He was appointed to the Supreme Court as a judge by then President Maithripala Sirisena in June 2016. He was an active member of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka and served as its Deputy President in 2013 and 2014.
