(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Four passengers of a three-wheeler were killed when it collided with a container truck on the main Kandy-Colombo road in the Dummaladeniya area in Warakapola this morning.
The four passengers, who were reportedly Air Force personnel attached to the Sri Lanka Air Force base in Ratmalana were returning to base after attending a funeral in Matale. The container was driven from Colombo to Polonnaruwa.
The victims were residents of Kahatagasdigiliya, Ballapana and Kosgama areas.
The driver of the container truck has been taken arrested.
Warakapola Police are conducting further investigations.
