(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Department of Registration of Persons says measures have been taken for its one-day service to issue National Identity Cards within four hours after application.
According to its Commissioner General, Viyani Gunathilaka steps have been taken to notify the applicants by a SMS to their mobile phone when the identity card is ready.
The official points out that there is no need to stay in the Department premises after submitting the application.
Over 1500 people come to the Department of Registration of Persons office in Colombo to obtain National Identity Cards from one-day service.
