Joint training program between Sri Lanka Navy and US Army

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) Balance Style 2020/01 between Sri Lanka Navy and US Army commenced at the Special Boat Squadron HQ in Trincomalee recently.

The inauguration ceremony of the course was held at the auditorium of Special Boat Squadron and Captain (H) Dhammika Wijewardhana, Commanding Officer 4th Fast Attack Flotilla, attended it as the Chief Guest.

Further, officers and sailors from Sri Lanka Navy and members from the Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha 1333 of US Army were also present on this occasion. Thirty five (35) Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) personnel from the Special Boat Squadron and the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla are expected to join this annual training programme.

The four-week long exercise training mainly focuses on Human Rights, Law of armed conflict, Small unit tactics, Military operations in Urban Environment, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Combat Marksmanship, Close Quarter Battle, Mission Planning, Maritime Operations.

Accordingly, the training module will help to develop professional skills and exchange of knowledge between personnel of US Army and SLN in the field of Land warfare and application of laws.
