(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Ministry of Health says 31 persons infected with COVID-19 were detected in Sri Lanka yesterday(28).
Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said 21 persons among the infected were identified as Navy personnel.
Six of the infected patients were persons who had come into contact with the infected Navy officers.
Dr, Jasinghe added the remaining 4 persons have been identified as Army personnel.
He said 478 active COVID-19 patients are being treated at hospitals, while a total of 619 confirmed cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Sri Lanka so far.
Meanwhile, 134 patients, including 133 Sri Lankans and aa Chinese woman, have recovered so far and have been discharged from hospital.
Seven deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported in Sri Lanka thus far.
