(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –United States National Security Advisor Robert Charles O’Brien has contacted President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to offer US support.
The White House, National Security Council said that O’Brien spoke with Sri Lankan President Rajapaksa and reaffirmed the long history of US – Sri Lankan friendship and cooperation.
The National Security Council said that they also discussed the US and Sri Lankan coronavirus response efforts.
O’Brien also conveyed President Donald Trump’s offer, on behalf of the American people, to provide needed ventilators to Sri Lanka.
The National Security Council said the strong bilateral relationship between the US and Sri Lanka is an important part of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
