(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) says that registration for foreign employment will resume on May 20. Under the first step, registration will be done for employment in n South Korea, Japan, Canada and Germany.
Head office of the Foreign Employment Bureau and all Provincial Offices and District Offices have commenced normal duties and the registration for jobs will be done at those places. Priority will be given to those who are already working abroad and are currently on leave and waiting to go back to their employment.
The SLFBE says that in addition to the basic documents required for registration, the certification letter issued by the employers of the respective countries that Sri Lankan workers will be quarantined in that country is also needed.
Foreign employment registrations for employment in the Middle East and other countries are due to begin in the near future.
Registration for foreign employment has been temporarily suspended from March 13 due to the spread of the coronavirus.
