(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Public Health Inspectors Union of Sri Lanka said that, Public Health Inspectors (PHI) across the country have decided to step away from duties related to prevention of COVID-19 with effect from 12.30 pm today (17).
The Chairman of Union of the Public Health Inspectors, M.G.U. Rohana has informed this to the Secretary to the Health Ministry, in a statement.
The PHIs have stressed that they are unable to carry on with their duties without legal protection.
The executive council of the Union has taken this trade union action, The Chairman of PHI Rohana further said , that the matter will be reviewed and future course of action will be announced meeting of the district representatives tomorrow.
The future course of action would be announced at the meeting of the district representatives tomorrow (18), Mr. Rohana further said.
