(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Presidential Commission of Inquiry to inquire into Easter Sunday Bomb attacks on 21 April 2019 has summoned the Former Sri Lankan President and current MP-elect Maithripala Sirisena.
Accordingly, Sirisena has been informed by the Police Unit of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry o report to the unit on the 26th of August 2020.
Sirisena was President during the Easter Sunday suicide attacks that killed 260 people and injured over 500 more. However, he was vacationing overseas at the time of the attacks and claimed he was not informed of intelligence reports about such an attack.
Meanwhile, the Commission has summoned former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to appear before the police unit on Friday, 21 August.
