(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Government will facilitate police officers for them to obtain university degrees.
The Police Department and the University of Kelaniya have signed an MoU in this regard. The courses will be conducted by the Police Training Institute approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC) as university degrees.
“It will help the Police to provide a peoples’ friendly and professional police service to the public, Irrigation Minister and Internal Security, Home Affairs and Disaster Management State Minister Chamal Rajapaksa said.
He was speaking at a meeting of police personnel in the Kurunegala District recently.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Jaliya Senaratne was present.
