A three day curfew has been declared in the Western Province with effect from midnight tonight.

DIG Ajith Rohana said that road blocks have been placed at the entry and exit points of the Western Province today.
He said that residents of the Western Province will not be allowed to leave before the three day curfew without a valid reason.
DIG Ajith Rohana said that even if anyone leaves they will be checked when attempting to return to the Western Province on Monday or Tuesday.
“As a result we request those in the Western Province to stay home. The Western Province is a high risk area so if someone goes out they might take the virus out as well,” he said.
