(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva has said that the rumours that a curfew is being imposed in the next few days are untrue.
The Army Commander who is also the Chief of Defence Staff and the Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated that despite such rumours no decision has been taken to impose a curfew during the festive season.
The Army Commander said that the isolation of Laksanda Sevana Housing Scheme in Wellampitiya had been lifted from yesterday. The ‘Laksanda Sevana’ scheme had been isolated for more than two months.
But he said steps have been taken to isolate several new areas such as Trincomalee, Abhayapuram Grama Niladhari Division, Jinnanagar area and Avissawella, Kosgama and Ruwanwella police divisions.
