Travel agencies disregarding health guidelines will be blacklisted – Tourism Minister

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga states that all travel agencies and individuals who do not follow health guidelines from the arrival to the departure of tourists to this country will be deregistered.

The Minister also stated that if the health guidelines are violated after the reopening of the country to tourists from the 21st, it will severely affect the tourism industry.

Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga announced the Airport reopening on 21st January 2021 and the guidelines for tourists are based on the Ministry of Health Guidelines dated on 6th January 2021.

It has also been stated that the travel agencies should obtain the prior approval of the Tourism Development Authority and give prior notice to the Authority on the destinations of the tourists.

The Ministry of Tourism states that a 24 hour operational operation center will be established at the Tourism Development Authority for this purpose.
