Sri Lanka reports four more COVID-19 deaths Thursday, toll rises to 251

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka confirmed four more deaths on Thursday due to COVID -19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 251, according to health authorities.

The Director General of Health Services confirmed following four deaths caused by COVID -19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID -19 infection in Sri Lanka is 251 by now.

01. The deceased is a 47 year old male from Dummalasuriya. After being diagnosed with Covid infection at the Kuliyapitiya Teaching Hospital, he was transferred to the Narammala District Hospital and then to Homagama Base Hospital where he died on January 12. The cause of death was Covid pneumonia.

02. The deceased is a 71 year old male from Galigamuwa. After being diagnosed with Covid infection at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital, he was transferred to Homagama Base Hospital, where He died on January 14. The cause of death was Covid pneumonia and kidney disease infection.

03. The deceased is 57 year old female from East Gintota in Galle. She died while receiving treatment at the Homagama Base Hospital on January 14. The cause of death was Covid pneumonia, kidney disease and respiratory infection.

04. The deceased is a 53 year old male from Colombo-13 area. After being diagnosed with Covid infection at the Colombo National Hospital, he was transferred to Mulleriyawa Base Hospital, where He died on January 12. The cause of death was Covid pneumonia and kidney disease infection.

Colombo National Hospital, he was transferred to the Homagama Base Hospital where he died on January 12. The leading cause of death was blood clotting, blood poisoning, lung infection and epilepsy due to COVID-19.
