(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Sri Lanka confirmed one death on Saturday due to COVID -19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 256, according to health authorities.
The Director General of Health Services confirmed the following death caused by COVID -19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID -19 infection in Sri Lanka is 256 by now.
01. The deceased is an 82 year old female from Athulkotte. After being diagnosed with Covid infection at Colombo National Hospital, she was transferred to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases where she died on January 16. The cause of death was heart ailment exacerbated due to COVID-19.
