Sri Lanka reports ten COVID-19 deaths Sunday, toll rises to 445

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka confirmed ten deaths on Sunday due to COVID -19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 445, according to health authorities.

The Director General of Health Services confirmed the following deaths caused by COVID -19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID -19 infection in Sri Lanka is 445 by now.

01. The deceased is a 74 year old male from Kolonnawa. He was transferred from Colombo National Hospital to Homagama Base Hospital where he died on February 21. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and Liver disease.

02. The deceased is an 82 year old female from Wellawatta. She was transferred from Colombo South Teaching Hospital to Base Hospital Homagama where she died on January 21. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

03. The deceased is a 58 year old female from Kalutara. She has died on February 16 at her residence. The cause of death is mentioned as blood poisoning associated with Covid-19 infection, acute diabetes and heart disease.

04. The deceased is a 72 year old female from Waskaduwa. She has died on February 16 at her residence. The cause of death is mentioned as blood poisoning associated with Covid-19 infection, and a heart attack due to high blood pressure.

05. The deceased is a 65 year old male from Bibila. He was transferred from Moneragala District Hospital to Kandy General Hospital where he died on February 19. The cause of death is mentioned as brain hemorrhage and respiratory infection due to COVID-19.

06. The deceased is a 68 year old male from Guruthalawa. He was transferred from Badulla District Hospital to Mulleriyawa Base Hospital where he died on February 20. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, heart disease, kidney disease and acute diabetes.

07. The deceased is a 68 year old male from Pitakotte. He has died on admission to South Colombo Teaching Hospital on February 19. The cause of death is acute asthma and acute diabetes associated with COVID-19 infection.

08. The deceased is an 83 year old male from Kudagalgamuwa. He died on February 14 while undergoing treatments at Kurunegala Teaching Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid-19 infection, blood poisoning and kidney disease.

09. The deceased is a 90 year old male from Ratmalana. He was transferred from Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital to Pimbura Base Hospital where he died on February 20. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

10. The deceased is a 72 year old male from Hatton. He was transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to National Institute of Infectious Diseases where he died on February 20. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid-19 infection, acute diabetes, high blood pressure and brain death.
