(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 578 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Wednesday.
Among the positive cases identified Wednesday are, 516 associates of the Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster and 62 foreign arrivals.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 11:30 pm Wednesday, a total of 98,050 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 3,752 infected patients are being treated at hospitals. Another 319 individuals are currently suspected and hospitalized.
Five deaths due to COVID-19 were reported on Wednesday raising the total to 630 and 93,668 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
