Sri Lanka reports three more COVID-19 deaths Monday, toll rises to 647

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Sri Lanka confirmed three more deaths on Monday due to COVID -19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 647, according to health authorities.

The Director General of Health Services confirmed the following deaths caused by COVID -19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID -19 infection in Sri Lanka is 647 by now.

1. The deceased is a 70 year old female resident in Galpatha. She has died on April 26 while undergoing treatments in Kalutara Distract General Hospital. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia.

2. The deceased is a 92 year old male resident in Kandana. He has died on April 25 while undergoing treatments National Institute of Infectious Diseases. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia, acute kidney damage, diabetes, high blood pressure and chronic kidney disease.

3. The deceased is a 70 year old female resident in Avissawella. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments in Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital and transferred to the Nevil Fernando Hospital where she died on April 26. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID Pneumonia associate heart and respiratory failure.
