(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – Restriction of travel between provinces to curb the spread of COVID-19 will be in effect from midnight today (11) until May 30, General Shavendra Silva, Army Commander and head of the National Operations Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.
The Army Commander said the travel ban between provinces is not an impediment to essential services.
Meanwhile, the Army Commander stated that there is a possibility of imposing travel restrictions between districts also in view of the Covid-19 situation prevailing in the country.
The President yesterday (May 10) ordered the imposition of travel restrictions between all provinces to control the spread of Covid epidemic.
