(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) – The second dose of the Chinese – made Sinopharm Covid vaccine will be administered from June 8 onwards, said General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operations Center for the Prevention of the Covid – 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
Accordingly, those who had the first dose will be able to take the second dose on the due date on their card and at the place where the first dose was taken.
The distribution of the first dose of Sinopharm vaccine to the people of this country commenced on the 7th and the vaccination program is currently being implemented in several districts of the country.
Vaccination is being carried out successfully in the Western Province as well as in the Kurunegala, Galle, Matara, Kandy, Ratnapura and Jaffna districts. So far, 666,612 people have been given the first dose of Sinopharm vaccine, according to the health authorities.
