Covid-19 vaccination in 12 more districts from June 08

(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –The Covid vaccination program is planned to be implemented in 12 more districts from the 8th of this month, said General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army and Head of the National Operations Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

The 12 districts where the vaccination program will be implemented from the 8th are Matale, Nuwara Eliya, Kegalle, Trincomalee, Hambantota, Badulla, Anuradhapura, Puttalam, Ampara, Batticaloa, Moneragala and Polonnaruwa.

The Army Commander further said that vaccinations are being given to people over 60 years of age, pregnant mothers and government servants targeting the most vulnerable Grama Niladhari Divisions in these districts.

After the Western Province, the vaccination program is currently being implemented in Kurunegala, Matara, Galle, Ratnapura, Jaffna and Kandy districts.
