(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –Sri Lanka Monday reported that 216 deaths due to COVID-19 confirmed for Sunday, August 29, 2021.
The Director General of Health Services has confirmed 216 deaths due to the COVID-19 for Sunday, August 29.
Among the Sunday’s deaths, 115 are of males and 101 of females. The majority of the deaths numbering 170 are of elderly people in the 60 years and above age group. Two females and three males below 30 years of age also succumbed to the disease.
According to the data reported by the Government Information Department, the total deaths due to Covid-19 since the pandemic began has now risen to 8,991 including Tuesday’s deaths.
