(COLOMBO, LANKAPUVATH) –According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 858 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Saturday.
Among the new cases identified today, 855 are from the New Year cluster and three are foreign arrivals currently in quarantine.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 11 pm Saturday, a total of 519,630 COVID-19 cases have been reported since the inception of the pandemic. While 47,965 infected patients are currently under medical care at hospitals and homes, 458,646 patients have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
Sri Lanka Saturday reported 55 deaths within last 24 hours raising the total to 13,019.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report, so far total of 14,555,215 people have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 11,821,594 have received the second dose.
