(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –Minister of Health Dr. Keheliya Rambukwella has stated that steps will be taken to make the vaccination card compulsory at public places from the beginning of next year.
The Minister states that legal advice has been obtained in this regard and that this program will be implemented accordingly.
Accordingly, those who have received both doses of the vaccine will be given a special application (App) and a QR Code, the Minister said.
The Minister of Health points out that the management of these public places is responsible for ensuring compliance. For example, if a person enters a cinema without a vaccination card, the management should take responsibility for it.
“Everyone has the right not to be vaccinated, but not to endanger the lives of others,” he said. Therefore, the Minister urges the people to get the full vaccination as well as the booster vaccine.
