(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – An island wide dengue eradication program will be implemented today (20) and tomorrow (21) jointly by the Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils and the National Dengue Control Unit of the Ministry of Health.
Under the theme ‘Clean Environment – A Healthy Tomorrow’, the Dengue Eradication Campaign will be carried out in all local government areas.
Speaking during a media briefing at the Department of Government Information Dr. Indika Weerasinghe, Community Physician of the National Dengue Control Unit said there was an increase in dengue cases being reported since August last year and 5,106 dengue cases identified so far in January alone.
