(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to present the International Monetary Fund’s report on Sri Lanka to Parliament.
Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa put forward the proposal to present the Article IV staff report on Sri Lanka by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The report on Sri Lanka issued for the year 2021 under Article 4 of the International Monetary Fund Agreement has been published on Saturday 25 March 2022.
Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe last week requested Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena and Leader of the House Dinesh Gunawardena to hold an immediate parliamentary debate on the International Monetary Fund’s report on Sri Lanka.
Chief Government Whip, Minister Johnston Fernando yesterday said the government has decided to hold a debate on the IMF report on one day when the parliament convenes again between April 05 and 08.
