(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Due to the lengthy power cuts, the trading hours at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) will be limited to two hours today and tomorrow, the bourse announced in a statement to media.
The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) in consultation with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC) having considered a request made by Stock Broker Firms, has decided to restrict trading hours from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on Thursday 31st March 2022 and Friday 01st April 2022.
The measure has been taken due to the difficulties faced by Investors and other stakeholders to access and operate the market as a result of the prevailing power cuts.
Accordingly, the trading sessions are as follows on Thursday and Friday:
Pre-open session – 10.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.
Open Auction – 10.30 a.m.
Regular Trading – will commence at 10.30 a.m.
Market close – 12.30 p.m.
This position will be reviewed over the weekend, CSE said.
