(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – In the first three months of this year, Sri Lanka has been able to earn US $ 462 million from tourism.
If the trend continues, by the end of this year, the tourism industry is expected to generate over US$ 2.5 billion in revenue, Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism S. Hettiarachchi said.
The Secretary said that if the energy crisis in the country is resolved, it will be easier to reach that expected revenue.
Two years after the COVID pandemic, foreign tourist arrivals have shown a rapid increase, with foreign tourist arrivals exceeding 100,000 in March.
