(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The power cut scheduled for today has been reduced by one hour and three-hours-and-20-minute power cuts will be imposed across several areas in the country.
The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced that two-hour power cuts will be imposed between 9am and 5pm and one-hour-and-20-minute power cuts will be imposed between 5pm and 9pm to areas A to L and P to W, today.
The PUCSL had earlier decided to cut off power for 4 hours and 20 minutes today but has reduced the time after the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has released stocks of furnace oil for power generation.
The PUCSL yesterday announced four-hours-and-50-minute power cuts for tomorrow and Wednesday and the schedule for those two days has not been revised.
