(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) –The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) says the 4 hour and 30 minute power cuts scheduled for the three days from April 25th to 27th has been reduced to three hours and 20 minutes.
Although the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) initially sought permission for four-hours-and-30-minute power cuts, after receiving stocks of fuel for power generation, a shortened power cut of three hours and 20 minutes has been announced.
Accordingly, According to the revised schedule for 20 zones from ‘A’ to ‘L’ and ‘P’ to ‘W’, two-hour power cuts will be imposed between 9.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. & 1 hour and 20 minutes between 5.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m.
Three-hour power cuts will be imposed to Colombo commercial area (CC) between 6 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. as part of the demand management measures due to inadequate power generation as a result of fuel shortage, hydro storage, and unavailability of generators.
