India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage now exceeds 197.11 crore doses

More than 197.11 crore doses of the Covid-19 vaccines have been given to Indian citizens so far. Over 2.5 crore sessions have been used to accomplish this, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Monday.

The health ministry also reported that more than 3.63 crore adolescents have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as part of the Covid-19 immunization program for children aged 12 to 14 years, which began on March 16 this year.

Similarly, on April 10, Covid-19 precaution dosage administration for age groups 18 to 59 had also begun.

Meanwhile, India now has 94,420 active cases, which constitutes 0.22% of overall positive cases throughout the nation.

India has a recovery rate of 98.57%. In the past 24 hours, 15,208 people have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered patients (since the pandemic started) to 4,27,87,606. In the meantime, 17,073 additional instances were recorded on the previous day.

3,03,604 COVID-19 tests were performed during the course of the previous 24 hours. Over 86.10 crore cumulative tests have been performed in India so far. Currently, the nation’s weekly positivity rate is 3.39%, and its daily positivity rate is 5.62%, the health ministry said.

On January 16, 2021, India started administering Covid-19 vaccinations. As of now, 93% of India’s population who are eligible for Covid-19 vaccination have received at least one shot, while 83% are completely immunized.
