(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The University Grants Commission (UGC) states that relevant measures will be taken to reopen universities island-wide in September.
The Chairman of the UGC, Prof. Sampath Amarathunga stated that the decision was taken during the discussion held between the UGC and the Vice Chancellors of universities this morning (Aug 22).
Accordingly, it has been planned to re-commence the academic activities systematically as per usual, by the end of September.
However, within some universities, the academic and examination processes are being conducted as usual, Prof. Sampath Amarathunga mentioned further.
It has also been decided to provide opportunity for the students who face difficulties in attending the lectures to participate in them via online classes.
