(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Chinese government has agreed to provide 10.6 million liters of fuel for Sri Lanka’s agricultural and fishing activities as per the request of President Ranil Wickramasinghe from the Chinese government.
Out of the stock, the Ministry of Agriculture has decided to give 7.5 million liters of diesel for farming activities.
The Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera says the stock of fuel is expected to arrive in Sri Lanka by December this year and although it is not possible to provide it to the farmers for sowing the paddy fields, they will take steps to provide the fuel to the farmers during the harvest.
