(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka Woonjin Jeong called on the Hon. Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena in Parliament recently (17).
H.E Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka accompanied Mr.Lee Seung Jong, President of Seamaul Foundation Korea and Mr. CHOI Sung Woo, Country Director of Seamaul Foundation Sri Lanka office for a cordial discussion between the Hon. Speaker .
President of Seamaul Foundation Korea briefed the Hon. Speaker on the Saemaul Undong movement in Korea which is a community-driven development program on improved community wellbeing in rural communities through agricultural production, household income, village life, communal empowerment and regeneration, and women’s participation.
Accordingly, the delegation led by H.E Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka Woonjin Jeong extensively discussed development opportunities in the agricultural sector and how relations between the two countries could enhance the expansion of the said sectors in Sri Lanka further.
The parties present further held discussions focusing on several matters of mutual interests.
State Minister Hon. Kanaka Herath was also present at the discussion held.
