(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe says that the Macroeconomic Policy and Financing Development Section of the United Nations ESCAP has confirmed that the current support given to Sri Lanka for the development of innovative financing capacity in order to achieve sustainable development goals will be continued.
The State Minister said this after a discussion held at the Ministry of Finance, Economic Stabilization, and National Policy yesterday (March 13), with the delegation of the United Nations ESCAP Macroeconomic Policy and Financing Development Division, which is led by Dr. Hamza Ali Malik, and representatives of the Luxembourg Green Stock Exchange.
The State Minister further said that the needs of the government and private sector stakeholders, as well as other sectors, in the issuance of thematic bonds to support the sustainable financing ecosystem and the opportunity for economic and financial policy evaluations for potential impacts on environmental and social sectors were also discussed.
