(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Western Province South Crime Investigation Division said a woman was arrested with ICE (crystal methamphetamine) and heroin worth nearly Rs. 20 million in Dedigamuwa area of Hanwella.
The police had seized 520 grams of ICE and 202 grams of heroin found in the suspect’s possession, an electronic scale and three bank books.
The police say that information was revealed about the woman identified as “Nilu” who is involved in the drug network of Lalith Kannangara, who is hiding in Dubai and directed the murder of Hanwella restaurant owner.
The police said the suspect was arrested while coming to her residence and during the search, they found the stash of drugs hidden in the travel bag.
The suspect is to be produced before the court.
Western Province South Crime Investigation Division officers are conducting investigations.
