(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Sri Lanka’s pioneer and premier industrial infrastructure facilitator, Lanka Industrial Estates Limited (LINDEL), recently received the TAGS Silver Award for the Best Annual Report in the Land and Property Sector. The Award was presented to LINDEL at the 57th Annual Transparency, Accountability, Governance and Sustainability (TAGS) Awards, organized and conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, to recognize excellence in TAGS reporting. The Award recognized LINDEL’s annual report for the financial year 2021/22, titled “Sustainable Infrastructure”. This marks the 2nd consecutive year that LINDEL has been recognized at the Annual TAGS Awards, having won the Bronze Award in the same category last year.
The TAGS Awards recognizes the best companies in Sri Lanka in corporate reporting, both in terms of financial and non-financial reporting, to increase and strengthen standards for transparency, accountability, governance, and sustainability reporting in the country. The programme also recognizes organizations’ efforts to embrace digitalization and transformation to uphold the integrity of financial, environmental, and social reporting. Organizations that remained transparent and accountable, regardless of size or profits, while taking necessary steps to give back to society and protect the planet were given their due recognition at the event.
Expressing pleasure and remarking on LINDEL’s commitment to TAGS reporting, Rasika Cooray – CEO Lindel said, “It is indeed an honour to be recognized for the 2nd consecutive year at the TAGS Awards. As an end-to-end provider of industrial infrastructure solutions, we are uniquely positioned to support environmental sustainability and promote the same amongst our tenants while supporting them to achieve their own TAGS goals. Sustainability is a core part of our ethos, and we provide the best services in Sri Lanka for industrial waste management and renewable energy through our onsite treatment and processing facilities and solar power generation capacity. With an emphasis on creating a green future, we are committed to tracking and reporting on TAGS to our stakeholders, creating a culture of accountability and good governance through transparency. We take this opportunity to thank the awarding body for the recognition and reaffirm our commitment to exceptional TAGS reporting.”
Also commenting on the achievement, Chairman of LINDEL, Thimal Perera added, “When it comes to making investment decisions and tracking investments, investors want clear, accurate and well-presented data, information, and analysis. Our commitment to TAGS reporting has allowed us to provide comprehensive, holistic information to investors beyond simple numbers so they can understand the complete impact, performance, and value model of the business. This commitment to the highest reporting standards, with a focus on TAGS, has led to receiving this Award, which is an honour for us as Sri Lanka’s premier provider of industrial infrastructure facilities.”
