(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Sri Lankan match referee Vanessa de Silva has been named as the match referee for the final of ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2023.
De Silva will be the first Sri Lankan Woman to officiate an ICC World Cup Final. ICC had announced 15 match officials for the tournament where De Silva head the panel of Match Referees which include former Bangladesh international cricketer Neeyamur Rashid and Zimbabwe’s Owen Chirombe.
She had represented Sri Lanka in 14 international matches (1 WTEST, 13 WODI) during her playing days and was the first Sri Lankan skipper of the Women’s National Team.
ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup has come to the business end as the semi finals will be happening today while the final of the tournament will be held on Sunday (29th January). India will take on New Zealand in the first semi final while Australia will meet England in the second semi final.
