(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The pilot project of starting nursing courses aimed at foreign employment at the Provincial Council level was started recently by the North Central Provincial Council.
It was initiated by North Central Province Governor Mahipala Herath and with the participation of Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara and Minister of State for Foreign Employment Promotion Jagath Pushpakumara.
By utilizing the resources of the provincial councils, steps have been taken today with all provincial governors and senior officials of the provincial councils to start training courses to produce skilled workers aimed at foreign employment.
After considering the usefulness and success of the pilot project, it is to be started at the level of all provincial councils.
Also, steps have been taken to start many specialized training courses unique to each provincial council, such as special training courses related to the fishing industry in the Southern Province, specialized courses for agriculture industry in the Norther Central Province, etc.
This project will be implemented island wide under the leadership of the Minister of State for Foreign Employment Promotion.
