(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – A discussion was held yesterday(12) between New Zealand High Commissioner Michael Appleton and State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe.
In this discussion, the measures taken to obtain the support of the International Monetary Fund were widely discussed. The reforms carried out with the aim of restoring the economy of Sri Lanka were also taken into consideration. Further, the economic situation and political situation in this country were discussed.
The New Zealand High Commissioner Michael Appleton emphasized that the New Zealand government will provide further support to Sri Lanka, including the necessary technical support for the best practises and the development of the country. The High Commissioner mentioned that the necessary discussions will be continued for that purpose. Brent Litherland the Customs counselor and James Anderson the Lead Advisor also participated in.
