(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – Reaffirming its commitment to fulfillingits sustainable efforts in nurturing young minds, protecting the environment and creating a safer Sri Lanka for all, SLT-MOBITEL, continued its Environmental Social Governance (ESG) programsin the New Year with a Meetree planting project followed by donation books at the ThavalampitiyaMaha Vidyalaya, Meerigama.

MeerigamaMee Tree planting is the 9thprogramme ofSLT-MOBITEL ‘Rata Pura HusmaiPohoraiWaga Karamu’ initiative which aims to improve air quality, reduce greenhouse gases, and promote healthier soil. Under this project, 50 MeeTreessaplings were planted at the event. To-date SLT-MOBITEL has conducted similar programmes across the country including Monaragala, Umandawa, Anuradhapura,Kundasale etc.
During the event, SLT-MOBITEL donated books and commenced work to renovate the library, empowering over 400 students to enrich their knowledge and inculcate the habit of reading. SLT-MOBITEL’s ESG programme demonstrates the organisationsfocus on protecting the environment and improving the wellbeing of the society by helping to manage climate risks in a continually evolving landscape.
