(LANKAPUVATH | COLOMBO) – The Controller General of Immigration and Emigration has confirmed that exclusive counters will be available for foreign travelers arriving at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) from yesterday evening (24).
The measure has been Tourism Development Committee appointed by the President Ranil Wickremesinghe, the President’s Media Division said.
Airport officials have been instructed to take steps to open additional windows at the airports for the speedy issuance of visas due to the increase in the number of tourists arriving in the country with the start of the tourist season.
Accordingly, the number of Immigration and Emigration Counters has been increased to 25 and two new counters have been established in addition to the existing two counters for On Arrival Visa while the space for Customs Operations has also been increased.
